We started a monthly Sensory Processing Disorder Parent Support Group in February 2010. The intention of this group is to provide:
- Understanding the joys and difficulties of raising a child with SPD.
- Learning opportunities through parent's similar experiences
- Utilize professional therapists to provide information related to SPD.
- Friendship and camaraderie
We have our meetings every 3rd Saturday of each month from 9am-10:30am at The Therapy Tree (89 Cedar Ave, Lake Villa, IL 60046) Next Meeting: Saturday, August 20th 9:00am-10:30am @ The Therapy Tree. Two AMAZING mothers with SPD children, Vana Stearns and Carrie Newsom, will be taking over this support group starting on June 2011 and moving forward. They have been with us since the first meetings. They have both been a true inspiration for us and everyone that attends our meetings. We couldn't think of two better women to take over!! Thank you so much Carrie and Vana for everything you do!!! Childcare is no provided onsite!!
